Meet the first five graduates of Ivy’s new online business program

The Ivy College of Business hit a significant milestone, with five students becoming the first graduates of its new bachelor of business administration (BBA) program in May.

The first graduates are:

  • Merima Mržljak
  • Angela Dong
  • Tong Luu
  • Makayla Woody
  • Macy Krebs

These trailblazer students were able to tackle the challenges of completing a college degree while balancing the workload already held in their professional lives. Among these students was Merima Mržljak, who found the program’s adaptiveness to be a leading factor in her enrollment.

“I was looking for more flexibility, as I wanted to work while in school,” Mržljak said. “My advisor told me about a new program where all my classes could be online if I wanted to, and after I looked more closely, I decided to enroll as soon as possible.”

Mržljak is a perfect example of who the program is trying to target.

BBA program pairs a rigorous foundation in business with courses that specifically strengthen managerial skills. It helps people who would like to advance their careers in positions that typically require a four-year college degree.

“The online program gave me the flexibility, convenience, and accessibility to complete my degree while attending to other obligations. I was able to work at my own pace, choose when and where to study, and gain access to course materials and resources conveniently.  ~Angela Dong

The program was designed for working professionals with at least 45 college credits but also meets the needs of students wanting the flexibility of online courses and a broader focus on general business. By enrolling in the BBA program, students can balance full-time employment or other personal commitments, and the completion of a four-year degree in business.

This aspect of the program especially resonated with fellow graduate Angela Dong, who stated, “The online program gave me the flexibility, convenience, and accessibility to complete my degree while attending to other obligations. I was able to work at my own pace, choose when and where to study, and gain access to course materials and resources conveniently. I was able to complete my degree in a timely manner while equipping myself with the necessary skill sets to be successful in my career.”

The program has had a significant, positive impact on the first graduates.>

“I would advise everyone to go after what makes them truly happy,” Mržljak said. “When it comes to education, consider finances, time, and energy that you have to put in, but most importantly, ask yourself how this diploma is going to affect your life.”
